Bees Trade Future for a Chance at Second Cup

Baltimore - A week of high-level talks culminated today with the Baltimore Bees accepting a deal that brings Randy Johnson, Curt Schilling, Steve Finley, Rondell White and Juan Gonzalez to Baltimore in exchange for Rich Harden, Zack Greinke, Kevin Mench, Dustin McGowen, and the Bees' 2nd pick in next week's draft. The Brewers' GM confirmed today that at least four other teams had made offers on the Big Unit, but no other team offered such a comprehensive package which puts the Brewers in a position to compete next year. Bees' GM Wolfe stated, "Look, I'd love to tell you that we can bring these guys back next year and compete for years, but the fact of the matter is, we need to win this year. They've got a job to do. I've done mine, now I'm going to stand back and let them get to work."
