Steaks See the Creeper's Ordonez and Giambi, and Raise Manny and Zito
The Pirates are sellers, the Steaks are buyers.
It is with great regret that the Pirates announce the trade of a true legend in the Pink. Barry Zito, drafted as a 22-year old kid in AA (1999??), will now get his chance to win back-to-back Cups, along with the hottest hitter in baseball, Manny "don't call me Man-Ram" Ramirez. The Pirates were forced to part with Zito due to his love of the mary-jane and alyssa milano. Plus, my wife has crush on him and with us moving to the Bay Area, I just couldn't take it. I trust that he'll be in NY next year (Mets, not Yanks).
The Steaks parted with Scott Kazmir. Interestingly, Kazmir and Zito have nearly identical stats this year.
Steaks Release Pending Further Announcement....
(Salary Watch: Cheesesteaks +241, Brewers +101, Warthogs +67, Creepers +31, Pirates -57, Money -89, Buckos -111, Bees -183). *Note Salary Watch does not include releases made during supplemental drafts.

What's The Big Deal?
Here's the big deal:
The Philadelphia Cheesesteaks today agreed to a multi-player deal with the Park Avenue Money after days of intense negotiations. In the deal, the Steaks receive Mike Mussina, Bartolo Colon, Mariano Rivera and Alex Rodriguez in exchange for Ervin Santana, Chien-ming Wang, Alexis Rios and Nick Swisher.
In a rare CARP deal that involves nothing but major league talent, the Steaks have attempted to shore up their pitching staff, while also acquiring the best hitter in the American League in ARod. The Steaks have finally acquired their much needed second closer in Rivera and have
great hopes that Mussina will continue to pitch as effectively as he has so far this season. The big question mark is Colon, who if healthy will provide a great addition to the top of the Steaks rotation.
In return, the Money have acquired four building blocks for the franchise. Ervin Santana is an emerging ace, who has pitched very effectively this year, while Wang has been great in his last couple of starts. Rios and Swisher are both coming into their own as power sources in the OF and will be very productive for years to come. Steaks management is very grateful for the contributions of Santana, Wang, Rios and Swisher, but we believe that the additions we have made will enable the Cheesesteaks to make a successful run to our first CARP Championship.

Brew Crew Makes Their Move
May 9, 2006 -- Philadelphia, PA. The Cap City Brewers, CARP champions in 96, 97, 99 and 04 have made a trade in attempt to restore glory to the franchise and its fans after suffering through a pathetic 7th place finish in 05.
In a hastily arranged press conference on the site of the now demolished Vet stadium, GM Pierre LaTour announced that the young future nucleus of the Brewers had been traded in an effort to "win now".
In a 9 player deal, the Brewers have sent Brandon Wood, Nick Markakis, Camron Maybin, John Buck and Anikori Otsuka to the Beltway Buckos in exchange for Curt Schilling, Vlad Guerrero, Jorge Posada and Y$$#@# Bentacourt.
"We needed help on both sides, offense and pitching", LaTour said. Even with the injuries to Harden, A.J. and Sheff we still felt this race is wide open once we get those guys back. We're sorry that Brandon and Nick won't be around, but we were happy to unload Buck, he sucks."
LaTour had no comment on rumors that Sheffield would be placed on the DL or that super prospect Delmon Young might be banned for the remainder of the year after an umpire's chest collided with his bat in an April 26th contest.

"you really ruin CARP for me" Griffey to Wolfe in response to an RFP for ARod.
"My picks are going to be #1 picks, which should yield blue-chippers" -Wolfe in response to Griffey on why he wouldn't throw in a pick in order to get a deal done.

Sexson and White Traded for Upton, McGowen and Diamond
Late yesterday night, the Capitol City Brewers, coming off an embarrassing 7th place finish in '05, pulled the trigger on a 5 player swap with the Baltimore Bees. Gone after a brief stay on the Brewers are three current or former #1 prospects; BJ Upton, Dustin McGowen and Tom "Dandy" Diamond. All three players were acquired during the '05 campaign. In exchange the Brewers have brought aboard Richie Sexson and Rondell White. With only about six weeks until rosters are due, rumors abound that the Brewers are not done dealing.
